Tenmoku
is a classic type of tea bowl known for its iron-rich glazes and dramatic kiln effects such as oil-spot and hare’s fur. Among these, Yōhen Tenmoku is the rarest and most celebrated form, featuring iridescent, star-like patterns that appear as if the surface contains a galaxy. While Yōhen is a type of Tenmoku, it stands out for its extraordinary beauty and extreme rarity, with only a few original examples surviving today.
