Timeline

• 1980 — born in Uji, Kyoto, Japan

• 2004 — Studied wheel-throwing at Kyoto Ceramic Technical School

• 2005 — Began working at Asahi-yaki kiln

• Artist-in-residence at Leach Pottery, St. Ives, England

• 2016 — Formally succeeded to the name "Hosai XVI"
