born in 1975 in Kanagawa, Japan, graduated from the ceramics department of Tokyo University of the Arts in 1998 and completed its ceramic-arts graduate program in 2000; after many years of creating expressive works exhibited widely across Japan (and even abroad), in 2008 he established his own kiln in Kawasaki, and in 2019 launched his brand Haruyama, dedicated to crafting functional yet artful tableware and pottery rooted in his deep ceramic-art background.
